In August 2025, the FFD POWER Nigeria subsidiary delegation visited the company’s headquarters in China for a one-week exchange program. The objectives of the visit were to:
Strengthen collaboration between the China and Nigeria teams.
Deepen the exchange of energy storage technology and market insights.
Support the strategic expansion of FFD POWER in the African energy storage market.
This visit facilitated knowledge sharing, reinforced cross-regional partnerships, and accelerated the company’s growth and presence in Africa.
With the global energy transition accelerating, renewable energy storage systems are becoming essential for maximizing clean energy utilization, optimizing grid operations, and reducing electricity costs. Nigeria, Africa’s largest economy, continues to face power supply challenges while offering significant opportunities for energy storage deployment. Recognizing this potential, FFD POWER, a leading provider of advanced energy storage solutions, initiated its strategic presence in Nigeria several years ago and established a local subsidiary to spearhead energy storage project development.
During the visit, the Nigerian delegation engaged in a series of in-depth discussions with FFD POWER’s R&D, project management, and marketing teams. Key topics included:
Energy Storage System Design and Microgrid Integration – Sharing insights from large-scale microgrid and industrial energy storage projects, with a focus on customized solutions tailored to Nigeria’s unique power infrastructure.
Battery Safety Technology and Intelligent Operation & Maintenance – Presenting advanced battery thermal management and safety technologies, coupled with AI-driven smart O&M platforms to enhance system reliability, longevity, and operational efficiency.
Project Development and Financing Models in Nigeria – Examining local regulatory frameworks, project approval procedures, and innovative financing solutions to address capital constraints and enable successful project implementation.
Market Expansion Strategies and Local Partnerships – Discussing approaches to leverage government support, foster partnerships with Nigerian enterprises, and develop localized production and service capabilities, thereby strengthening FFD POWER’s competitive positioning in the Nigerian energy storage market.
The Nigerian team toured FFD POWER’s headquarters R&D laboratories and demonstration projects, gaining hands-on experience with the latest energy storage technologies and advanced control systems. Targeted training sessions further enhanced the Nigerian engineers’ skills in system installation, commissioning, and maintenance, equipping them to improve operational efficiency and ensure the successful execution of upcoming projects.
FFD POWER’s General Manager, Zhang Hua, emphasized: “Nigeria’s energy storage market holds significant growth potential. This visit fosters deeper technology transfer and cultural exchange, promoting collaboration that aligns innovation with market demand. We remain committed to further investment in Africa, advancing demonstration projects that enhance power stability and support green energy development.”
Emeka, Head of FFD POWER Nigeria, added: “We are highly impressed by the headquarters’ advanced technologies and expertise. We look forward to transforming these strengths into practical solutions for Nigerian customers, working together to build a smarter, greener energy future.”
