The Mediterranean Supermarket runs on a 1MW rooftop solar system integrated with 8 Galaxy 233L-AIO-2H units. This setup allows the supermarket to operate entirely off-grid. With time-of-use electricity pricing and intelligent EMS control, the system optimizes energy usage. As a result, it significantly reduces electricity costs.
Technical Highlights
- This 0.8MW/1.86MWh LFP battery system features a modular, scalable design. It provides over 6000 cycles of reliable performance. The system ensures smooth on/off-grid switching and responds quickly to industrial load fluctuations.
- The intelligent EMS tracks real-time electricity prices and load demand. Using SoC, PV forecasts, and tariff signals, it adjusts charging and discharging in real time. This ensures the system achieves maximum economic returns.
- This system connects to a 1.5MW rooftop PV installation. It captures excess solar at midday to minimize curtailment. In doing so, it greatly increases the self-consumption of renewable energy.
- With its containerized and pre-integrated design, the system is quick to install and commission. It offers true plug-and-play capability. The design also ensures easy scalability and relocation for future energy demands.

Operation Strategy
- At midday, the system charges when power prices drop below zero or solar output surpasses demand. This allows cost-free or profitable energy storage. It also reduces the risk of PV curtailment.
- In the evening, the system discharges stored energy during high-tariff hours. This strategy cuts grid reliance and decreases electricity costs. It leverages time-of-use arbitrage to maximize savings.
- The EMS continuously tracks load profiles. By shaving peak consumption, it lowers demand charges for the facility. It also ensures smoother and more stable grid interaction.
- Surplus solar energy is stored by the system. It is then used when PV generation is low or absent. This strategy greatly improves the facility’s self-consumption of solar power and overall green energy utilization.
- The EMS optimizes all operations in real time. It considers electricity prices, load forecasts, SoC, and PV generation trends. This approach guarantees maximum economic and operational efficiency.
